This paneer Tikka recipe is deceptively simple and easy to make with the marination of yogurt and spices make it’s delicious. It’s then seasoned with curry leaves and some spices give you perfect flavor and FABULOUS paneer tikka on Tawa.
2 tbsp gingelly oil (any vegetable oil can be used)
200 grams/ 1cup – paneer /cottage cheese.
3 tbs yogurt
1tbs ginger garlic paste
1tbs chili powder
1tsp turmeric powder
1tsp fennel seeds
1tsp cumin seeds
1Tbs garlic (chopped)
3 dry red chilies
2 sprigs of curry leaves
a pinch of salt.
Prep work: Cut paneer/cottage cheese into a cubes
grind ginger garlic paste and keep the ingredients ready.
To a mixing bowl, add yogurt, ginger garlic paste, chili powder, and turmeric powder and salt. Whisk them to make a thick paste.
Add cubed paneer cubes, mix well and marinate for 15 to 30 mins.
To the Tawa, heat 2 tbsp gingelly oil and cook the paneer thoroughly all the sides till they are golden. collect the cooked paneer in a bowl and keep aside.
heat up gingelly oil, add cumin seeds, fennel seeds, chopped garlic let it sizzle for few seconds.
Now add a sprig of curry leaves and dry red chili, stir and cook for few seconds.
Then add chopped onion, stir and cook for 1 or 2 mins.
Now add all the cooked paneer cubes, gently toss them. and serve.
Tips to make paneer tikka:

Marination: Marination is key to make a juicy paneer tikka. You can also do the overnight marination.
For more flavors, you may use ghee/clarified butter.
Onions have to be cooked translucent to get a light crunchy taste.
