This gingelly oil chicken recipe tastes incredibly delicious with aromatic gingelly oil cooked with garlic and chili flakes that are sure to be your favorite!
Chicken- 1/2 kg
Seasame oil/Gingelly oil – 3tbs
onion – 1 (finely chopped)
garlic – 1 tbs
chilli flakes- 1 tbs
turmeric powder- 1 tsp
Curryleaves- 1 sprigs
salt – 1 tsp
1.Heat gingelly oil/sesame oil in a Kadai/saute pan, add chili flakes, curry leaves and garlic. Stir and cook for 2 mins over a medium flame.
Chilli flakes tend to brown quickly so keep in low-medium flame.
2.Now, add chopped onions, stir and cook for 3 mins till the onions turn translucent.
3.Add chicken pieces, turmeric, and salt. Saute and cook for 5 mins.
4.Add 3/4th cup of water, cover and cook for 15 mins.
5. Take off the lid, Now cook for another 8 to10 mins until the water is completely absorbed and chicken is coated with the masala.
Tips to make best gingelly oil chicken:
Gingelly oil/sesame oil: Use good quality cold-pressed oil to get the right flavors.
Chilli: You may use dry red chilies instead of chili flakes, simply tear the dry red chilies and add-in.
Meat: You can also use mutton, just pressure cook the mutton with turmeric and salt and follow the same method.
